Over looking the city of Albuquerque, the Sandia Crest has a truly magnificent view. Perched out on the precipice of the western face of the mountain sits an old stone building with iron bars, all that remains of the windows. It is from these windows looking basically south over the Manzano Mountains that this photograph is taken. I have often been reminded of this photo when sitting at my desk (at the center of a vast windowless building in the mountainless Midwest), it has come to almost symbolize how imprisoned we've become inside of our comfortable homes and offices. At other times it just makes me wish I was there on top of the mountain looking out.
